In addition, social media platforms have become extremely aware of their users and collect information about their viewers to connect with them in various ways. Social-networking website Facebook Inc. is quietly working on a new advertising system that would let marketers target users with ads based on the massive amounts of information people reveal on the site about themselves.[104] This may be an unethical or ethical feature to some individuals. Some people may react negatively because they believe it is an invasion of privacy. On the other hand, some individuals may enjoy this feature because their social network recognizes their interests and sends them particular advertisements pertaining to those interests. Consumers like to network with people who have interests and desires that are similar to their own.[105] Individuals who agree to have their social media profile public, should be aware that advertisers have the ability to take information that interests them to be able to send them information and advertisements to boost their sales. Managers invest in social media to foster relationships and interact with customers.[106] This is an ethical way for managers to send messages about their advertisements and products to their consumers.

A friend of mine alerted me to this issue today. The FB cover photos are for some reason not taking the 815×215 sized cover photos. We both use our laptops..on our cell phones, the images appear to be fine! I have viewed other cover photos in other groups where this has happened, some are off where others are fine! Are you aware of any updates or changes that FB is or has made? Thank you!

Many brands are now heavily using this mobile app to boost their marketing strategy. Instagram can be used to gain the necessary momentum needed to capture the attention of the market segment that has an interest in the product offering or services.[54] As Instagram is supported by Apple and android system, it can be easily accessed by smartphone users. Moreover, it can be accessed by the Internet as well. Thus, the marketers see it as a potential platform to expand their brands exposure to the public, especially the younger target group. On top of this, marketers do not only use social media for traditional Internet advertising, but they also encourage users to create attention for a certain brand. This generally creates an opportunity for greater brand exposure.[55] Furthermore, marketers are also using the platform to drive social shopping and inspire people to collect and share pictures of their favorite products. Many big names have already jumped on board: Starbucks, MTV, Nike, Marc Jacobs, and Red Bull are a few examples of multinationals that adopted the mobile photo app early. Fashion blogger Danielle Bernstein, who goes by @weworewhat on Instagram, collaborated with Harper's Bazaar to do a piece on how brands are using Instagram to market their products, and how bloggers make money from it. Bernstein, who currently has one and a half million followers on Instagram, and whose "outfit of the day" photos on Snapchat get tens of thousands of screenshots, explained that for a lot of her sponsored posts, she must feature the brand in a certain number of posts, and often cannot wear a competitor's product in the same picture. According to Harper's Bazaar, industry estimates say that brands are spending more than $1 billion per year on consumer-generated advertising.[56] Founder of Instagram Kevin Systrom even went to Paris Fashion week, going to couture shows and meeting with designers to learn more about how style bloggers, editors, and designers are currently dominating much of the content on his application.[57]

Hi, I admin a neighbourhood-type group for the small town I live in. I ask people to answer to answer a question about reading and following the rules. However, many people do not answer. I can see from their profiles that they live in my town, and I’d like to approve them, but they are missing the questions. I can message them, but only as myself, so if we’re not friends, it will just disappear to the spam folder. Facebook should have a function where an admin can contact people wanting to join, reminding them to answer the questions or asking them for more information. It shouldn’t have to be down to messaging between individuals who don’t know each other.
More than three billion people in the world are active on the Internet. Over the years, the Internet has continually gained more and more users, jumping from 738 million in 2000 all the way to 3.2 billion in 2015.[9] Roughly 81% of the current population in the United States has some type of social media profile that they engage with frequently.[10] Mobile phone usage is beneficial for social media marketing because of their web browsing capabilities which allow individuals immediate access to social networking sites. Mobile phones have altered the path-to-purchase process by allowing consumers to easily obtain pricing and product information in real time[11]. They have also allowed companies to constantly remind and update their followers. Many companies are now putting QR (Quick Response) codes along with products for individuals to access the company website or online services with their smart phones. Retailers use QR codes to facilitate consumer interaction with brands by linking the code to brand websites, promotions, product information, and any other mobile-enabled content. In addition, Real-time bidding use in the mobile advertising industry is high and rising due to its value for on-the-go web browsing. In 2012, Nexage, a provider of real time bidding in mobile advertising reported a 37% increase in revenue each month. Adfonic, another mobile advertisement publishing platform, reported an increase of 22 billion ad requests that same year.[12]

Sharing Curated Links — While using social media for marketing is a great way to leverage your own unique, original content to gain followers, fans, and devotees, it’s also an opportunity to link to outside articles as well. If other sources provide great, valuable information you think your target audience will enjoy, don’t be shy about linking to them. Curating and linking to outside sources improves trust and reliability, and you may even get some links in return.
We all want to squeeze more juice out of our Facebook marketing campaigns, but plenty of barriers stand in the way. Some of us are struggling to identify what changes we need to make to get more visibility and traction for our Facebook posts. Others know exactly what they want to implement, but don’t have the resources or the manpower to pull it off. Luckily, there’s a whole host of Facebook marketing tools out there to relieve you of these burdens!

Actually I had someone download and print my photos – with the watermark on them, but I hadn’t compressed them first. They used them in a photobook, so the size of the photos was not large, but they used them anyway and they came out ok. This was someone in my family who I would have happily sernt the full size files had they asked, but now I’m annoyed that they used them without my permission and probably won’t share photos with them in the future.

Success in the new realm of Facebook advertising (remember: it is now a hybrid engagement plus performance-based direct-response ad platform) means that marketers need to put more research and focus into the images they use in Facebook ads because the ad size is so large (especially in the News Feed). The relatively short lifespan of a Facebook ad means that brands must have a vast quantity of unique, constantly refreshed images at the ready to keep their ads and content near the top of users’ News Feeds. This is especially true for direct-response advertisers, who must rely on engaging, creative ads to entice a consumer into making a purchasing decision. I am managing several pages for a client. I am looking to clean up and streamline their Facebook pages. As of right now they don’t have a group. They host marathon and running events (non-profit). As of now they have their main Get Bold facebook page (it has the least likes/followers). Then they have several other pages one with about 4,300 like/followers, each of these pages are specific to the event. I’d like to know if I should take their Get Bold main page, convert that to a group. Then take the page that has the most like/followers and update that to be their main page? Then I can delete all other pages, so instead of each event having a separate page … each event would be added as an event on the new Get Bold page. This way we would have the benefit of the large following being moved to their main page, where followers would see all events and in addition now they would have a group. What would you suggest? When someone visits your website, you can use an advertising pixel to cookie them (track them), and then when they begin to visit other websites on the internet you can show them follow-up advertisements on the sites they visit. Common ways you can retarget them with ads would be on sites that display Google Ads, on Facebook, and on other large sites that utilize advertising networks, such as AdRoll. WELCOME TO FACEBOOK HQ!!
I’ve just taken a look at the FB page, and I’m afraid I don’t follow. All the images I see are displaying regularly as squares on one side of the timeline or the other. Without seeing exactly what you mean, two possibilities come to mind: images will display full-width on many mobile browsers because the two sides of the timeline are condensed into one vertical column, or perhaps they’re using a separate FB custom page aside from their timeline. If you know of another example I can take a look at, send it along. How to Log Out of Facebook on Every Computer

While Instant Articles are definitely not for every business, they have helped some larger publishers monetize from native advertising. Because users are 20% more likely to click on Instant Articles and 70% less likely to abandon then due to poor user experience, publishers have a greater opportunity to earn revenues from native ads. However, the format has received backlash because the publishers don’t own the analytics. Which Facebook Advertising Campaign Type Is Best For You? Pay Per Engagement? Conversion? Or Clicks?

Designed to act more like a personal profile for businesses, public figures, and organizations, a Facebook page is basically a place to create an authentic representation of what you’re about. It’s very similar to a basic profile in structure and function, but the intent is for the actual page to become the entity rather than the person behind a profile. For instance, your brand is what’s known by its page – e.g. the Coca-Cola brand and its page and promotions and fans, not the CEO of the company and its followers. Thank you for the extensive article. The one question that I can’t seem to find an answer to anywhere is the following. I have business manager setup for my agency – I have access to a client’s page through business manager. The client doesn’t have an ad account, but wants me to run ads for them. We want to setup an ad account for them that’s billed to OUR agency payment method. I don’t see an option to create a new ad account to run ads for this client under my business manager. He’s non-technical and doesn’t know or want to setup an ad account under his personal FB login, so we can’t “request access” or “claim” an account that doesn’t exist. Yet the “create new” option under my business manager forces me to select “advertising on behalf of” … with only my agency name in the drop down as an option … so I don’t think this is the way to go since I’m not advertising on behalf of myself – I’m advertising on behalf of his business. Anyone know a solution or have a recommendation to create an ad account for a client without having to login to their personal FB account to set it up? Sorry you’re being inundated with all of these comments! I see that you’ve updated this post two weeks ago, but I’m wondering if FB has made changes once again. I shared a link to my Facebook Page and the text on the photo was cut off at the top. I used the recommended dimensions to custom-create a design in Canva, and then used Social Warfare to set the image. It seems like the only safe thing to do now is to share an image without text, unfortunately.

When someone visits your website and takes an action (for example, buying something), the Facebook pixel is triggered and reports this action. This way, you'll know when a customer took an action after seeing your Facebook ad. You'll also be able to reach this customer again by using a custom audience. When more and more conversions happen on your website, Facebook gets better at delivering your ads to people who are more likely to take certain actions. This is called conversion optimization.

The cost-per-view pricing model is designed for video ads and charges advertisers every time their video ad is watched by a Facebook user. It is a good option for advertisers with a powerful message best presented in a video. Keep in mind that a video only has to run for three seconds for Facebook to consider it a view; this may not be enough time to convey your message. If you need more time, consider a different pricing structure to help you achieve your ad goals.
Facebook does not currently let you automatically run A/B tests on your ads, as they spend more of your daily budget on the ads that are converting better. However, they do this very early so you are best off to let your ads run long enough to get a decent sample size before you make any decisions. My recommendation is at least 500 impressions, but even better if you can wait until 1,000 impressions before pausing the underperforming ads.

Advertisers can be savvy about using retargeting ads to generate repeat sales by advertising products similar to those that a customer has already purchased. Retargeting serves as a great way to cost-effectively use reminder advertising. Typically, previous customers are more likely to buy from you than someone who has never heard of you, so creating audiences of previous customers is a great way to generate ongoing sales.
A very helpful piece of information my friend you have shared with us here. I am really thankful. Facebook has a nasty habit of changing stuffs without informing. What’s so great about Facebook video ads? Well, for one, shoppers that view videos are 1.81X more likely to purchase than non-video viewers. For another, the set-up process is as simple as setting up an image ad. It’s the video creation itself that might dissuade advertisers from getting in the video ads game—yet even those advertisers might soon find themselves at a disadvantage. Views of branded video content on Facebook increased 258% as of June 2017, and over 500 million people watch video on Facebook every day.

Take the time to consider and precisely define who these people are by learning How to Create Customer Profiles.

There’s no right type of group for all businesses. If you want to encourage lots of public discussion, a public group might be your best bet. If your business deals with an area of life that people consider to be personal or private, you might want to consider a closed group so that people feel comfortable sharing thoughts that they might not want to be publicly visible. A secret group could even be a fit, if your goal is to offer a super-exclusive online meeting place—for premium members of your subscription site, for example.
