When it comes to a benchmark, most advertisers want to achieve a ROAS over 300%. Since once you factor in your time commitment and gross margin, you may be losing money with a ROAS lower than that. Facebook prospecting campaigns may be considered successful with a ROAS of 250%, while Facebook retargeting or dynamic product ads (DPAs) may be considered successful at a 500%+ ROAS. Facebook Ads Retargeting Campaign and Facebook Retargeting Audiences Tutorial 2019
Social media can be used not only as public relations and direct marketing tools but also as communication channels targeting very specific audiences with social media influencers and social media personalities and as effective customer engagement tools. Technologies predating social media, such as broadcast TV and newspapers can also provide advertisers with a fairly targeted audience, given that an ad placed during a sports game broadcast or in the sports section of a newspaper is likely to be read by sports fans. However, social media websites can target niche markets even more precisely. Using digital tools such as Google Adsense, advertisers can target their ads to very specific demographics, such as people who are interested in social entrepreneurship, political activism associated with a particular political party, or video gaming. Google Adsense does this by looking for keywords in social media user's online posts and comments. It would be hard for a TV station or paper-based newspaper to provide ads that are this targeted (though not impossible, as can be seen with "special issue" sections on niche issues, which newspapers can use to sell targeted ads). Remember how back in the old days of advertising (for sake of argument, let’s say five years ago), you had to actually research your audience, their likes and dislikes, challenges, needs, etc., before you created an ad? And then along came that ridiculous Oreo Super Bowl tweet and all of a sudden the concept of properly understanding your audience went out the window and “real-time” everything was in. Well, it doesn’t quite work that way if you want great performance from Facebook advertising.
I co-own a Miami Dolphins Fan group that has an internet radio show, a twitter account and eventually will be adding a website. We currently have both a FB Group and an FB page, and cross=post most content to both. Do you think having both is a good idea or not? And why or why not? Also, if keeping both, would you continually cross-post everything? Thanks for your advice.
We finished the four steps from Facebook’s welcome menu, but there are still a few things you can do to customize your Page. For example, every Facebook user has a vertical navigation bar to the left of their News Feed. By adding your Page as a shortcut here, you’ll always have easy access. Go to your News Feed and click on “Edit” next to “Shortcuts” in the left vertical navigation to make it easy to navigate to your Page in the future.

I’m a notice and always just use photos straight from my android. They’ve always been nice & large, whether horizontal or vertical. Just recently the photos are very small. Is there a simple fix? Lastly, they know men and women look for different things in a night out, so they create two ads geared towards each. How To Make Money on Facebook | 3 Ways To Do It For FREE!

So what’s the best way to do it? Offer them the opportunity to subscribe to your email list through the Facebook lead ads. These ads let people fill out a form and subscribe to your email list so you can keep in touch with them there and the best part is that they don’t even have to leave Facebook to sign up – they can subscribe right from their newsfeed.

Sorry you’re being inundated with all of these comments! I see that you’ve updated this post two weeks ago, but I’m wondering if FB has made changes once again. I shared a link to my Facebook Page and the text on the photo was cut off at the top. I used the recommended dimensions to custom-create a design in Canva, and then used Social Warfare to set the image. It seems like the only safe thing to do now is to share an image without text, unfortunately.
What exactly is the Facebook Pixel? Well, way back in the day (2015) advertisers had to install multiple pixel codes on their website to track different conversion metrics. Each new landing page for each new promotion required a new pixel—a sustainable practice in small doses, but pretty cumbersome the bigger and more complex your ad strategy got. Enter Facebook Pixel. Once you’ve started to build up your following, you may want to consider adding a Facebook Group to your marketing plan. With more than one billion people using Facebook Groups every month, it’s an audience too large to ignore. Think of Groups as the online equivalent of the office water cooler or your favorite coffee shop. They are a place for people to get together and share information and ideas with like-minded users in an online community environment.
For example, a ski and bike company should group users by the main product types the business offers, such as skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers, and road cyclists. A customer who previously purchased a road bike would be a good candidate for a promotion on new clipless road bike pedals, whereas the customer who rented a mountain bike won’t likely be interested in road biking gear.
I moderate a group with around 1,300 people, and it is VERY time-intensive. My biggest problem is identifying new replies. For example, if a post gets bumped to the top that has 50 comments, I have to go on an Easter egg hunt and open up *every single comment* to identify the one or more comments with new replies. Sometimes I see a blue line on new replies, and sometimes I see a time stamp on the last reply. However, this is inconsistent. Is there a more efficient way to make sure I’m not missing any new replies?

Pages are Facebook’s equivalent of a business profile. Pages look similar to profile pages but show specific information only applicable to businesses, organizations, and causes. Whereas you connect with a profile by adding them as a friend, you connect with a business Facebook Page by “liking” it and becoming a fan. If you create a personal profile for your business instead of a Page, you run the risk of getting it shut down by Facebook.
As your visitors, these people have already shown interest in your brand so they might also be interested in hearing from you in the form of your email newsletter. A very helpful piece of information my friend you have shared with us here. I am really thankful. Facebook has a nasty habit of changing stuffs without informing. Moreover they tend to push such updates in parts and hence some pages are up-to-date and some are still stuck with the old layout. But now I have got the average idea about how to still control the photograph views on my Facebook timeline. Thanks again. Advanced Facebook Video Ads Retargeting Strategy Funnel
Closed Groups: Anyone can ask to join, but requests have to be accepted by a group administrator. If you’re not a member of a closed group, you won’t be able to see group posts. This is helpful because you can educate your members with tutorials without giving everyone the ability to see your training. The closed group is the most popular for business.
I run a business page for my place of employment, and we recently created a group for a select group. This is not for business purposes and is strictly for networking and connecting, so we changed the privacy setting to a secret group. Although people can’t see the group, we have let them know they can contact me if they want to be added to the group. However, I am not sure where to go from here. Under the “Invite” tab, it says “Invite people who like your Page, [page name], to join this group.” It then gives me a short list of recommended people, but nowhere to type in names or email addresses. Your value proposition should be believable. For example, saying you have the greatest sandwiches in the world will not make people come to your business's Page, but maybe offering 20% off will. So how do Facebook Exchange ads perform? The CTR for Facebook Exchange ads is 40% lower than for other web retargeting ads, like those offered by the Google Display Network. Other retargeting ads are also cheaper, with price per unique clicks costing 80% less than Facebook retargeting ads. Still, in terms of cost-per-impression and cost-per-click, FBX ads are considerably cheaper, so the monetary benefits depend on your business’s needs. These numbers are also subject to change as FBX ads begin to appear more often in the news feed.
Choose your privacy settings. By creating an open group, anybody on Facebook will be allowed to see posts and join the group. A closed group will allow only invited members to see posts or join, but anyone on Facebook will be able to search the group. A private group means that only those invited will see the group, including all its members and posts.

Facebook uses an algorithm to determine if and when an ad will display, and what price will be charged for the ad. Many factors are considered as part of that algorithm, though Facebook ultimately chooses to display ads that it believes will promote user engagement. Factors include your audience targeting, bid amount, competition, ad objective, ad type, ad placement, ad schedule, and ad quality. A computer sales and repair store is running a promotion on external hard drives and they want to use Facebook to advertise this sale. To avoid wasting ad spend, they target ads by user’s needs. Using the info from the Facebook Pixel, they create a custom audience of those who have recently visited the blog post on how to back up a computer. They then create an ad specific to those users, explaining the benefits of external hard drives and the current promotion.

A public group is exactly what it sounds like. It’s fully visible to everyone, and anyone can join without being approved. However, it is the easiest group type for users to join, and can therefore grow quickly. Facebook Groups: 'Found By The Hounds' – More Together

Yes, it’s paving the way to advertise in groups. My biggest concern was that I’d build a community and someone else could advertise their product into it. I can now also advertise directly into the group and boost interaction etc. It’s rolling out a lot better than I imagined 🙂 Facebook Groups Poster -Post to Open AND Closed Groups No App Required- Facebook Autoposter Software

Thanks for this, very helpful. Question: how does fb determine if the first image is a portrait, landscape or square display? I uploaded 4 “square” images, the orientation for all looks very square to me, but fb keeps displaying the first one as landscape or portrait. I tried changing the first image, testing all four images, but fb still keeps displaying the first one as portrait or landscape. I would like all four to appear in four equal sized boxes. Is there a way to make this the default? Thanks.
Facebook is an open and public space, so you can't control everything people say. Instances in which it is appropriate to remove user content would include: advertorial content, harassment and abuse, derogatory or offensive language, threatening posts, and posts that contain sensitive information (credit card numbers, addresses, etc.). Instances in which you should address the comments instead of removing them include: customer complaints, negative commentary, and critical statements. You may not like what people always have to say, but in social, you always have to listen.
Facebook has the same capability. An advertiser can advertise to a list of leads or customers by uploading a list of email addresses it already has into the Power Editor to make a custom audience. A good retargeting ad acknowledges that the brand knows you're already interested in its product. (Because, let's face it ... retargeting can be a little creepy.) Great info. Thank you. I have a very specific question that nobody can seem to answer for me. I noticed a while back that when posting an album of photos on Facebook, the way it was displayed varied greatly from my phone vs. Desktop. While viewing on my phone the pictures are displayed in one long thread, scrolling up and down to view, where the quality is terrible and I’m not able to select individual photos to view full size. When I go to look at them on the desktop, they are displayed one at a time, full size, where you click on the right side of the picture to view the next image in album. I could just blame it on my phone, galaxy s5, but it doesn’t happen with every album I open. Specifically on other photographer’s pages, somehow they have it set up that pictures in their album are never displayed in this low quality, scroll down form. What’s happening? I’ve forced myself to only post one photo at a time because it doesn’t result in loss of quality. Do you have any advice? The Social Network (2010) - I'm Not a Bad Guy Scene (10/10) | Movieclips
This is tad bit off of topic.. but hoping you can help. We know now that we want a group… but it’s the privacy setting that’s confusing. FB has a table that tells you about the security, however the last entry reads “who can see stories about the group on FB (like in news feeds and search” For closed it says “anyone” and for secret is says “only members”. What are “stories about the group”. This statement is contradictory to the rest of the table. We want a group that people can find, but that no one but members can see the contents of, including photos posted, posts, etc. Are these considered “stories”? If FB truly wants to promote groups then why is there no longer anyway to post directly to your groups from photos, social media or links on the net? This needs to be reestablished asap or groups will die. If I can’t post to the two groups I’m an admin for then there is no way to keep them active and viable. If I can’t post to the groups I’m a member of then those groups will also expire. Wake up FB. THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO KEEP GROUPS GOING…
When you create your first advertisement, Facebook offers two choices of editors: the Ad Manager and the Power Editor. The Ad Manager is a great choice for most companies, while the Power Editor was created for larger advertisers who need precise control over a variety of campaigns. For these instructions, we’ll use the Ad Manager. To find the Ads Manager from Facebook, go to your homepage and find "Ads Manager" from the left-hand menu. ist=PLEBHl_wJQnqvnWrCRy87h-vHOe8rzQ3rJ">How To Start Social Media Marketing As A Beginner In 2019 - STEP BY STEP
Experiencing exactly the same problem. Seems images are now limited to 1200 x 628 pixels with the height being the most important. Anything larger will be resized. Like you I find the quality is awful and I had to resort to uploading to albums again, however this is not an ideal work around. Mostly I’m annoy that it seems to have only impacted on certain individuals as there are others still able to upload at 2048 pixels.
The Facebook pixel is a small snippet of code that you, your website engineer or a Facebook Marketing Partner can paste in your code. It tracks the people and the types of actions they take when they engage with your brand, including any of your Facebook ads they saw before going to your website, the pages of your site they visit and the items they add to their carts.
If you are slightly comfortable with dealing with code, feel free to paste the “conversion pixel” code right in between the tags of the confirmation page. Otherwise, upload the “Facebook Conversion Pixel” plugin into wordpress and then navigate to the post/page edit screen in wordpress and find the box the plugin added where you can paste in your “conversion pixel.”
If groups related to your business already exist, you should definitely get involved to keep an eye on the conversation, learn from what people are saying about you, and help provide the brand’s perspective. You might even uncover some potential ideas for new product development. (We’ll get into more detail about finding and joining existing groups below.) But you should also create your own official group as the brand-endorsed meeting place for fans on Facebook, so that you can grow those relationships in a context that gives you greater control.
